:

When: Tuesday Nights
Where:

Where Ken feels the energy is right. Location will be posted Monday night or Tuesday AM. Check the Main Board in the Bulletin Boards.

Bring: Waders, bug repelent, pfd if wading, fly rod, favorite flies, slicker, korkers, and a good flashlight with a strong beam, not for changing flies but for safety while walking, and extra batteries. A camera and anything else you feel comfortable bringing. And of course, always carry trashbags.
Do not
Bring:
Any advertising materials or items for sale. This is not set up as a commercial get together. It's about comraderie and learning and sharing at a personal level.
This is not a guide trip. It is about sharing with others. There may be fish, there may not be, but there will be plenty to see and do. We are going to look at a beach and look at a salt pond try to understand them piece by piece. A little bit of poking, a little bit of fishing, and a whole lot of sharing; kind of like the way it was and still is for some of us.

Come to R.I. and fish with Kenney.

On each Tuesday afternoon from 4 oclock in the afternoon on I will be at a fishing site that I will post on my website.

If you are interested all you have to do is show up during the course of the evening. I will be available to share the place I have chosen with you and I will also answer any questions you may have that I can answer. This is for free. Years ago I did a similar program for Rhody Fly Rodders and it was a big success. Often people tell me that they do not know where to go and are unsure of the tackle they need and/or would like to fish with someone a few times to get the feel of it but cannot afford a guide. There are also quite a few people who would like to see techniques they have heard about actually being used or have someone show them how to try out those techniques on the water. Well, this could be something you might enjoy attending.

I am going to choose places to fish based on the different environments they are examples of. If you choose to come you will fish in estuaries, tidal rivers, flats, bays, backwaters, inlets, outlets (when the tide turns), breachways, jettys, tide rips, rocks, and sand. We will fish the surf, both sand beaches and rocky cliffs and by the end of the year we will have covered a great deal of territory and hopefully made some new friends and learned a lot of new places to fish.

Fishing to me is about sharing with others what others have shared with me.

I will give a list of basic equipment you should have such as a flashlight, types of flies for the fishing we will do, etc. The list will be general and basic. I hope you come and enjoy the stripers as much as I do. I have asked a few of my friends if they would come and help out and they have said they would love to. This is about learning and sharing new places and techniques. It is not a guide trip focused on catching fish alone. If you want to learn about how to fish with other types of equipment that is perfectly fine, so don't worry about not being the same as everybody else. I fish with all types of tackle and I enjoy it immensely. This is striper fishing New England style.

Hope to see you on the water,
Ken Abrames.
