Tying a second fly from the bend in the first was new to me when I moved to the US. Back in Scotland the standard 'rig' is for 3 wet flies, with two droppers afixed with blood knots. This system seems to work pretty well - it evolved for a reason, I guess - though I'm always open to alternatives (tying blood knots is a bit fiddly). Jon
