Yes. But even still the droppers are seldom taken in fresh. They are but not often. The hardness of the mono is a factor. I have been trying the surgeons knot and have not had problems yet so the jury is still out. I must add that i am not using frog hair or flouro or any of that kind of soft thin leader material though. I think that stiffness has a lot to do with it. I am intrigued with the dropper loop method. I need to find out more about how well it actually works in the stream.
Time will reveal the answer to this problem. If you see it as a problem.
