The Blackstone is still fishable. I fished it last night. The water temp. was right at 70 degrees. That's starting to be the limit where the fish will be stressed if you play them too long. However, the fish I caught were in great shape. I brought them in as quickly as possible and was very careful to make sure they were revived before releasing.
I know there was a previous post stating that there were dead trout floating in the river. I have seen several people mishandle the fish that they caught. I suspect those fish died as a result of mishandling. It's especially important to handle fish properly as the water temp. approaches 70 degrees.
I will start limiting my fishing in the Blackstone to early mornings when the water temp is below 70. With the cool nights we have been having is suspect that we still may have a few weeks left of good fishing in the Blackstone.
