You know it is only getting worst out there. The clerks are now recommending 10 wt rods with sink tips on intermediate running lines.

Or this: I have read a number of times that many get into 2-handers because their arm is so tired of fishing a 10wt single hand all day that the two hander makes everything so easy.

It really is Bizaro World.

Because I fish at night and in some remote places I really see anyone else fly fish. But when I do go to a place where there are other fly fisherman just before the sun sets I see odd activities. I will see someone make 6 backcasts and their fly only goes 75 feet then two hand strip and they are right back to backcasting. They really spend as much time casting than the time the fly is in the water. Without exaggeration a guy a couple hundred feet away casted almost the third time while I was still working my fly and took a fish. For many fly fishing is about fly casting because they are spending much of their time casting. I almost feel silly coming down around some other guys and making a 50 foot roll cast and working my fly and feeding out line. I think that they are looking at me like I'm in Bizaro World.
