The reason thor the name is because silk lines sink unless you dress them. Mucilin is good and yes you do dress the whole line and it does keep the line higher in the water or perhpas it is that it sheds water better when dressed and does not bog down when you mend it.

There is green label Mucilin and there is red label and I use both.

IT changes hte way the line feels when fished. I like that feel.
