Hey Gabe,

For going to overhead from a spey line my personal rule of thumb is to start a 4 line weights over the spey line and then I can back down from there. It is usually in the range of 3-4 line weights above what your spey rod is rated for.

It can vary on rod as well hence the 3-4 line weight range. For instance a sage TCR is going to want a heavier line than a tfo in the same length and rod weight.
