The "sustained anchor" casts - double spey, snap "T", Perry Poke are certainly noisier than the "touch and go" casts. We talk about creating a "white mouse" where the line is being ripped from the surface film when creating the "D" loop to load the rod. On medium/fast flowing rivers, there is usually enough background noise to mask the effects. But at night, on a quiet estuary backwater it sounds like the hounds of hell breaking free!
The Single spey, Snake roll and ? (I probably missed a whole bunch...) can be made with just a "kiss" where the leader anchors briefly before the forward delivery is made.
All Spey Casts rely on surface tension to create the anchor I supppose there will always be some surface disturbance but this can be minimized with touch and go casts.
