I think it has to do with failure. The older we get the more set we are in our ways. Some so called experts will not try something new because of a long learning curve and they would make mistakes and fail. It's bad for their ego. When I told an angler about my new two hander I got the usual negative failure stuff. What I like about this group is you can fail and people will help you over come some early learning shortcomings.
