Hiya gang,
You know by now that I'm at the will of the group regarding location; I like the canal, but I like seeing new places too.
I'm unfortunately out for this weekend as well. I'll be way down east Maine, Machias, to see my uncle launch a, several year, major boat project. Hopefully there will be a few stripers in the river. The earliest that I've caught schoolies around the Penobscot River was mid-May, but the Machias River is 100 miles down the way as the crow flies.
I look forward to the next spey day, and I hope to make it regularly, however, family summer plans are starting to materialize making my weekend opportunities fewer. This fact about summer always seems to sneak up on me.
I'll keep posting as I know better, sorry for being momentarily off the radar and thank you to Paul and all for doing the organizing.
-Seth
p.s. Good news! Another spey guy is returning from the northwest to our region. His name is Wayne Jordan (Sean do you know Wayne?), and he'll be a welcome addition to probably more of these events than me. As I always said when we worked together, "the only difference between Wayne and I is that Wayne fishes." He is moving his family back for similar reasons - he has a baby now too. So we'll see how this has changed his angling habits, or not.
