George why not try it. Years ago I aways heard about bonefish being taken on all kinds of flies and other things to horrible to mention but in modern times people have forgotten those ways of fishing. Jack Gartside is always inviting me to come down and fish for them with him and tells me; "Ken you don't have to fish for them that way (the ordinary way) we can fish for them in current and drift flies for them and you will love it. He also tells me he likes to catch them on the surface." So, I believe him. Try anything you want to try and what have you got to lose? Suppose you catch or hook three at a time and lose all of them. Suppose you catch one on a flatwing and surprise yourself? One thing is for sure if you don't try them and droppers those people who urge you not to try will be right! It would be a neat thing if the flatwings were hot and the jig flies were not and vise versa. That way you will know for yourself through experience not hearsay.
