Salmo Saxatilis ... by Ken Abrames
There are three models All are three piece 10 ½ foot rods
#3. 160 grains through 320 grains - Plus.
#2. 180 grains through 360 grains - Plus
#1. 200 grains through 400 grains - Plus
They are wonderful rods and they cast effortlessly and they have a interchangeable butt for two handed spey casting with the heavier lines or the shorter butt for single handed casting.
The # 3 is a perfect striper rod and also a very versatile steelhead rod. I also like it for trout fishing in large rivers.
The # 2 Is a strong and responsive rod with the same characteristics and a little more range in line weights on the heavier grain wt. end and is made for both heavy fresh water fishing and the salt.
The # 1 is a good striper and salmon rod for big water and especially for ease in casting and line handling in the surf. It is a bit more powerful and will handle lines of over 4oo gr and yet is light enough to be a good all around rod for all types of Salt Water Fishing.
All three of the rods spey cast with lines of sufficient grain weight to bring their power on line and when used this way handle heavy spey lines with ease.
The rods are made for fishing first and I am sure you will be amazed by how user friendly they are. They truly make casting a long line easy. They cast with very little effort because the line and the rod working in correct balance do the casting for you. That is the traditional method of fly casting that has been forgotten for too long.
You can order on line.
The rod with tube will be $350.00 Shipping 15.00 Total $389.50 including tax
