I use LL Bean rods all the time. My favorite is a streamlight 6 that my Dad bought me for my birthday 9 years ago. I cast a rio outbound 8 on it which puts it in the realm of an 11 weight. One backcast and zoom, my team of 3-5 flies goes where I want them to be.

I use it for saltwater all the time and have landed numerous fish over 30" without any fear of breakage from fish or heaviness of the line.

I upgraded my newer rods to the double LL and the orions as I felt I needed better gear as my skills progressed. I have sinced returned or traded away all those rods except for one double ll 3 wt (also a good little striper rod) and replaced them with streamlights as I felt they are some of the best rods under 10.5 feet out there as well as a great price at around 100 bucks with a no questions asked guarantee.

I like a Sci anglers system 2 in 8/9 size with my 6.
