Subject: September Night Variant |

The September Night Fly is a pattern that I've developed a lot of respect for over the years. It's like one of those salt water plugs that just plain works. So I've decided to try tying variants of the pattern this summer to see how other color combinations might work. Here's one of them.
Hook: Eagle Claw 253, 3/0 Thread: Yellow Tail: Long white bucktail, second, wide white saddle, third, wide yellow saddle, third, wide olive saddle Body: Silver body braid Collar: Long white bucktail Wing: Sparse blend of black turquoise and purple bucktail Topping: A short deep purple saddle under a slightly shorter black saddle.
I almost put jc on this one but I liked the way it looked so much without the eyes, that I didn't put them on.
For some reason I keep thinking sandy bottom when I look at this fly.
