One of my goals last week was to fish a lot of different sand eel and other patterns and see what the fish loved. These were the big producers.

Tiny sparse sand eels as outlined here
http://www.stripermoon.com/talkshop2/messages/6463.html
These worked with and without eyes.
I also had success on two variants tied thus:
"Cut Sand Eel"
Thread: Olive
Hook: EC 254 size 4 or Mustad 36890 size 6-8
Body: pearl braid
Wing: 30 total hairs white, pink, and olive bucktail, one strand pearl flash
Topping: One small peacock herl 1/2 longer than body
Eyes: JC (optional)

"Lite Brite Sand Eel"
Thread: Black
Hook: EC 254 size 4 or Mustad 36890 size 6-8
Body: Chartreuse or gold braid
Wing: 45 total hairs mixed white, fl. yellow, orange or chartreuse bucktail; one strand blue flash; three strands black Krystal flash
Eyes: JC (Optional)
Length: 2.5 - 3"

Olive Fireworm (as outlined in "Perfect Fish")
Tied 2" long, with and without eyes

Big Eelie (as outlined on this site)
4.5" long

Eelie (two variants)
Thread: Black or white
Hook: Mustad 3407 sz 4 or EC 254 sz 4
Platform: 30 hairs white bucktail
Tail: Orange saddle over yellow saddle
Body: Gold braid
Length: 2"

The bass were digging them big time. Thanks to everyone on the board for answering all my questions the past few months. :-)
