Jigs are jigs. They have a built in action.
They dive.
They are great lures and light ones are called fly rod lures. They always have been called fly rod lures.
They work and they are not flies but fly rod lures. Since time immemorial that is what they are called.
That is the tradition - not my opinion.
There is no re-writing of history that can change fly fishing tradition.
