last night the ocean confinscated my main fly box. this means that i get to build a new foundation from the ground up.

i have been tying quite a bit these days, this and that and whatever strikes my fancy or finds inspiration somewhere, but i was wondering if you folks had some staples in your boxes which you would not go fishing without. some pillars of profile or color combinations or species. i still have number of rays flies. thats about the only thing of note i can remember.

i am looking at this loss as a blessing, for it wiped my slate clean and is giving me an opportunity to create a very intimate relationship with what i bring with me and why.

so if anybody has a suggestion for a currently handicapped fisherman, he would appreciate any amount of them. thanks.
