Jeepers...

This is not a flatwing site even though it is. We can skip and chew gum at the same time over here.

Bandwidth is greater than - one fly fits all.

Once upon a time in the not to distant past the only fly that was being promoted for everything except as a popper was a dumb bell eye jig - fly.

So... as we and no old timers that I knew had ever used one of those, we mentioned that there are other flies out there that are very good indeed.

That radical statement caused quite a stir among the folks who did not like hearing a differing view on flies..

We also said radical things like, natural materials also work not just man made and are not outdated.
That statement got us in big trouble too.

Openmindedness was ...
Threatening as hell I believe.

So we are not a flatwing exclusive site and never were.
Traditional is the word that best describes this site.
That is a good thing not radical, not exclusive and I am very glad that someone held up a signpost for traditionsl fly fishing in salt water.

It was a very good thnig that we did as otherwise the modern take on the salt would have dismissed everything that was not being marketed by the industry as , NEW, DIFFERENT, INNOVATIVE, NEST TIME XONE< FLY FISHING FRONTIER and on and on.

Nothing new under the sun was more like it.
That of course is not good marketing.

Think about it for longer than a few seconds.
Salt water fly fihsing did not start with a RIVER RUNS THROUGH IT.

That is when the modern dogmatic salt water fly fishing started.

All to gether now 1, 2, 3..

All you need is;
1 An intermediate line,
2 A stripping basket,
3 A nine foot, nine weight fly rod and a
Jig fly
