I have a date and a place picked out and a set of rules to make it fair. It would be a draw partners tournament from the shore. I think it should be a cash prize tournament with entry fees and closely monitored for cheating. IT would be open to anyone who would want to fish in it including people who know about how to fish in tournaments namely bass tournament fishermen. I think they would love it and enjoy beating the NP Elite at their own game with nothing more than fish sense and effort.
If anyone is curious including all you BAsSS guys out there who disdain fly fishing and think it is for sissies e-mail me for further details.
A level playing field for three days with fixed hours and a land boundry limit wiith no private advantage to anyone - public access only, for fishing and tight controls of the measurement of the fish. No chumming or non-traditional fly fishing practices. Flies only (no jigs) and no restrictions on equipment except the rods must be fly rods and the lines fly lines no spinning rod substitutes. No bending of any of the rules to gain advantage over other fishermen. The spirit of the rules must be adhered to.
The details of the rules are very clear and are copyrighted and trademarked.
I wonder if any salt water guides will dare to belly up to the bar and show their stuff against all comers.
I doubt it but one never knows?
E-mail me if interested at any level.
I am thinking of MId-October in a place everyone knows how to get to with total public access for the first one.
