Waders on the yak?

Subject: Waders on the yak?

I recently bought a SOT, flyfished a couple times from it. It was really nice.
But as the weather cools down, I want to keep me dry,also sometimes I need to wade on the sandbar. I wonder if I can wear my waders on the Kayak. My kayak dealer told me never to wear a wader on the kayak because they could be filled in tons of water so very dangeous. I just don't see why it is that dangeous. Any comments?
