Joe, for sure look at the link don posted. I am also working on and out rigger but I ended up making it too complicated for safe use and am having to redesign. One thing to keep in mind is that it is very hard to make an out rigger system that will not effect your kayaks tracking. One way around that is to only use the outriggers when you are not traveling which means it needs to be easily retractable and when its retracted not effect your stability.
