All the 10's I have ever tried loaded well with the Outbound 12's I still wasn't crazy about the way the 425 grain 11 loaded the rod. Yours was harder to flex than most so I don't see it having a problem with any line over 500 grains.
I have a friend that uses a the Outbound 12 on his eight weight rod. It was really stiff too. The Outbound 10 and 11 didn't flex it much either. The 12 turned it into a sweet casting rod, yup, 510 grains on an eight weight rod. I remember the first day he got the 12 and we tried it out at the Cape Cod Canal. It would throw a big Razzle Dazzle, herring time, with a flick of the wrist and single backcast where ever we wanted it.
Seeing as you can cast any trout rod fine the salt water ones don't need to be any different.
No worries about using your real name here.
