The best thing is to try out some lines on it. They do not have to be any type of line in particular.
Sinking lines or floatig are fine. It is the grain weight that is key.

Try different size lines until you find the one that casts easiest for you. If you are in the area bring your rod on Tuesday and we can try some lines on it.
