I am thinking of trying a double taper floating line, size twelve. I think it would mend better than WF lines. I find that the running line on WF lines is too light to mend effectively, esp with surf breaking. It can be done, but it seems that the extra mass would help in flipping the line over waves to keep the flies lined up parallel to the wave face.
