I think it is funny.
All I ever say to anyone is salt water fly fishing is not new and that fly fishing tradition has real wisdom and value for trully serious fishermen.
I guess that is controversial and threatening to people who want to be contentious for the pure spor6t of being contentious.
This too shall pass.
Five yearws or less from now they will singing praises to having balanced rods and mending and on and on once it becomes so obvious to everyone that they will all say (them not me)
That they knew it all the time but they just didn't say it out loud.
Peanut galley conformity is the fly fishing religion nowadays.
They want to belong to the culture that they think is the right one rather than having using common sense mechanics and newtonian physics about their casting/fishing.

I thihk it is funny and normal.

Once upon a time if you did not agree that the earth was flat then you could be burned at the stake and they would throw a party and watch you burn.
Some things never change.

Grain weight and one backcast is one constant that is also among those timeless things.

It is all politics or it is physics.
The politics are funny and the physics is timeless.
Two different things entirely but any peole do not know that there is a vast difference between them at all.
