Subject: Sunk line

There is a chapter in "Greased Line Fishing," on fishing with heavy hooked flies and full sunk lines in heavy flows that takes into consideration current. I just love reading the old Masters and reading about their discoveries.

That book was written over one hundred years ago.Yes thgey had sinking lines. An ungreased line sunk and was made of silk and a greased line floated and was called a greased line. It is becasue of the invention of the "Greased Line " that fly fishing as we know it came into existance. Sunk line fishing was always viewed as a poor cousin to the floater at best when it came to effectivness.
Still it hs its moments for sure. Wood is keen in his understanding of how to fish them effectivly.
