I use them and have for many years. I also use sink tips lead core heads and sections and both sinking and floating running lines. The fact is IF you look back through this board it is about how to use sinking lines with control and intelligence.

Take a look. You will find that I am telling the whole truth.

The perception about what I say about sinking lines and deep presentations is simply not at all true.

I even can just cast and retrieve them.
I count them down in trout ponds and in the salt when there is no current to place drag on them and lots of other things too. I used them a lot in salt water in the very early seventies from boats and had very good success counting them down when drifting along with no drag on them at all.

Add current and it is a whole different game.

That is what this board was designed to do . Focus intelligent attention on how to use them in various situations with an understanding of how they actually do act and respond when they are underwater out of sight.

Using a sinking line intelligently is a difficult skill set to master. Any one can cast and strip with one blindly and that is fine but his board is here to talk about their characteristics and how those peculiarities can help or defeat your efforts use them effectively.

The real determiner of how well you will do with them is understanding how "Drag" or the effect of underwater currents has on them and the fly.

This is a very imortant part of understanding how to fish with sinking lines in every aspect of fly fishing worldwide.

Only in salt water fly fishing is it ignored as the norm.

This board is here to bring the effects of drag on sinking lines to the consciousness of those fellows who want to know about it to improve their chances of catching fish with their skill in using them rather than depending on chance.

Counting down is only a small part of the equation and in current - a part of the problem unless drag is factored in.
