By the way-
THere is no end run around this.

If you wnat to be a good "journeyman" fly fisherman you have to be willing to learn about and master drag.
Every great fly fishierman throughout history had to and so do you.

It is the only measure of fly fishing skill.

Casting is a non-issue.
