Amazing about those other web sites. I like sinking lines and have had good results using them for many, many, many, many, many (each many is a decade) years but they are a specialty item for certain situations but in most situations (not all) they are a handicap and a trully fundamental one. Funny to hear that a floater get tossed around by the waves! It is just the opposite. You can mend a floater but not a sinking line that is trapped in the wave with no possible control. Thank God there is a beach break so people can catch fish with them.
I agree with you about the use of sinking lines in ponds and such. They are a lot of fun when fished that way. I also agree with the use of shot or lead core.
