I was looking too for worms on the south shore of LI but didn't find them. I was optimistic because the day was warm and I had a team of worms but alas it was not meant to be. The rest of the week is suppose to get quite warm so I will keep an eye out. Lots of horseshoe crabs out last night. Lots of keeper sized stripers around too following schools of 8-12" menhaden. Switched from small to big and found that in fact, for me, only 9-inch flatwings (yellow or black) have consistantly worked. Anything smaller seems to get ignored. They are looking for big yellow (bunker). Water was high and running hard but the stripers were looking topside and taking flys and plugs that whizzed by on the surface.
