You're correct. This fly only has two hackle tips in the wing. I've made a bunch with two and four. The fly is 2 1/4" long. It's the largest I've tied. The rest are all on #6 hooks.

I will try out the red mahoney for the next few nights.

A Mustad 3407 #4 is a good hook for these flies.
