Ken, Sorry, but I missed your response. From the chief engineer, Febuary 2007 all the engineering plans are suppose to be in place, All permits are suppose to be in place by August 2007, and Construction is suppose to start in May 2008. This is strange as that is the period when the herring will be trying to get over the first dam at Omega Pond. I recommended to the engineer in charge that they start construction in the Turner Falls dam as this will not interfer with the fish trying to get over the Dam at Omega Pond. This of course means that fishermen like Paul Bettencourt will have to lft the fish over the Omega Dam for another two years. I will have to contact the East Providence City Offical that is in charge of the area around the Omega Dam. Last year they did make avaiable keys for the locks on the fence blocking access to the dam. That official has been very corporative about helping to maintain the trying to fishery. It must be me Ken, as much work I have personally done about both the herring, and the menhaden fisheries if I post there is not many answers, if some of the younger whipper, snappers, they get a lot more response. Ten years on the same subject is way to long, especially when things are not getting done here in RI. Another one is how many docks in the State of RI have you seen number plates on? I haven't seen any, yet it is the law.
