Informative article but it also caries a lot of speculation in it too. I always enjoy hearing the comercial fishermans side of the story too, which turns up at the end of that article. These guys are always looking for something else to blame besides themselves when it comes to their profession being too "hard" to do. If I wasn't good at doing something I would either figure out what I was doing wrong or if that wasn't possible I would take up another line of work. I don't care if seafood prices go up. I catch my own.
"...For fishermen, that means uncertainty, and that can translate to lost income. "A fisherman's logbook is like a set calendar, things always happen within a week of when it happened before," Fuka said."
Cry me a river. He who adapts first wins...or in this case survives. Nature has an interesting way of filtering out the weak and unresourcefull. Who's to say she isn't going to find a way to filter out the weak and unresourcefull humans as well.
