I knew being a submariner would pay off :)
but seriously mending and staying in contact with the line was the key. Because of the light I could see the effect allot of fish looked at the fly and would only hit it if the drift was right. I caught 8 fish in about 15 min but with smaller flies I think they would have hit every cast.
