Jay the same happen to all of us who fish and write. Paying your dues it is called. I do not think it is heavy criticism to ask the magazines to have some content about fishing in their magazines nor do I think it is sarcastic to poke fun at their entrenched
lack of openness to new writers who are not dilettantes and/or fishermen who write with real time experience to backup their words. Who knows maybe the new frontier fishery magazines will notice that the older magazines who still remember the ethics of journalistic content still prevail in the number of subscriptions and news stand sales that are countable by measurable standards. I hope that line is not too critical or sarcastic it is after all what the advertizers pay for.
