Ken, I think it is fair to criticize any publication which prints erroneous or mis-leading information. My reference to excessive criticism and sarcasm was more in general than this particular thread.

We all try to write as accurately as possible, and in theory at least, we would hope that editorial would catch any errors, but that is not always the case.

I recently had published a little piece which referred to the Mayan system of numbering. When the magazine arrived in the mail, I was aghast that they had mis-stated me. I checked the copy I had sent over and found that they had not mis-stated me, I had made the error.

I crossed my fingers thinking there are only 40,000 or so people who might see this, what are the odds that anyone will catch it?

Well of course, one of those 40,000 is both an avid fly fisherman and an expert on the ancient Mayan Language. What are the odds of that!

He wrote such a nice criticism which was published in the, ' Letters To The Editor,' section, that I was glad he responded.

It was lucky for me that it was not one of you guys who caught it.
