That is a good little spot for little gear.
Crustaceans seem to be the bait of choice. Lots of shrimp and crabs get swept along through there and the bass feed on them like trout on insects.
The fish also seem to be fairly spooky there. It doesn't take much to put them down from feeding on the top.
I watched a Tuesday night there a year or so ago where there were fish rising until all the 8+ weight lines started whipping the water to a froth. All the fish went down. I stayed after everyone left for another spot to see what would happen. All the bass started to rise again about ten minutes after everyone was out of the water.
I like light lines and gentle presentations there with unweighted shrimp flies and corkies to keep them on top. For me it is 3 wt territory with a floating 6 wt nymph line with a couple small GP's or clamworms.
Little rapalas and yo-zuris in clear, white, or red also seem to be quite productive drifted with the current.
Sharp hooks are a must due to subtle hits.
There is also something about the color red in various shades that works really well there. I have been put to shame many times there when I didn't have a red fly in my box.
