Heh, "need to kill" is a funny phrase coming from a rec fisherman.
Lacking better language......or honesty........it's usually code that falls somewhere between 'succumb to illusion' and 'prove myself'; IE: the illusion of worth taking an apex predator.
Much like the the sorry plight of modern man that sends them to the savannah looking to take a lion....from the safety of a Land Rover with a .40 caliber weapon.
I think spear-fishing for sharks might be an interesting proving ground, if that is what's needed.
