I got a few keepers (OK, I counted. It was two.) last week on the Block, but the vast majority of the fish were in the 20-26" range. Not "dinks" but certainly not cows.
I will say with confidence and conviction that I could be content catching nothing but these particular fish. They were all fat and piggy and feisty, and some of the 3-second long hookups I had made me giggle as I watched the fish explode and dash across the surface. They all fought like the dickens, and it was a treat to land them, thank them for playing, and watch them swim away.
I seem to be in the minority on the trout boards I post on, but I will always take a bunch of medium sized trout over one big one. Don't get me wrong, the big ones are always a memorable experience. I guess what I really like is fooling fish. :-)
