One of the most common questions they get at the fly shops is, "Where can I fish on the Farmington where there won't be any people around?" This question is usually asked on sunny spring and summer days, when angler density is thicker than flying ants on a muggy August afternoon.
The short answer is nowhere. The long answer is everwhere. ;-)
I spent a good chunk of the summer of 2004 parking and walking, as Ken said. A little curiosity, a little research, a lot of footwork. I'm pretty confident that on any given day, I can find solitude and fish.
Of course, that's also why God invented small streams. :-)
