Subject: Dead drifting GP |

Last night I was dead drifting a couple of GPs into a stream feeding a salt pond here in CT. The fish were hitting the surface pretty hard but I was not getting any hits. It was dark so I could not see my fly in the water but upon retrieval I found that I had weeds caught in the hook. My sense is that the GP was sinking and not staying on the surface. Can anyone tell me what they have found to an efective way to keep your fly riding high in the water? I continue to struggle with catching fishing when they are feeding on surface bait in the current. Thank you.
