Yup.
We have written about them any times on the site. We call them beach fleas but they are not fleas. They are crustaceans that live in the intertidal zone and where ever you find them they are bass close by. At least in my experience.
If I am on a beach at night and I can't find fish I walk along with my light until I find them in mass and I start fishing right there. The best surprise I have had doing this was finding two schools of large Weakfish feeding just about a cast offshore on two different south shore beaches one July.
It has always worked for me. I do not care why it works only that it does.
They have black eyes and some are large about an inch and a half. People used to use them for bait.
