Good on you mate. Been using this technique 0n the westcoast for the last few years. 550/skagit matched to a 13' rod with 15'conventional tips or T14 tips.
T14 tips are very nice for turning over the big stuff
and is verry smooth.Skagit with half a double and a poke and go or a C spey with a poke and go . Remember to use the C spey for bringing up the the heavy tips. Relax and slow and go.
