Subject: Re: Limitations & the Flyrod

Re read my answer.
Go up in line weight for high winds and a twelve foot sea is dangerous on a beach.

I have lots of situations that I have difficulty with but I keep trying to overcome them.
I do not know the limitations on what a fly rod can do.
I do not have a list of what I can do or what I can't do with a fly rod. I find those things out when I run up against them. I enjoy trying to overcome them on a one by one basis.

I am not a measure to compare oneself to.
I just fish for myself and share what I experience as best as I can.
My father was my hero and since then I have had none.

I respect the old masters and pay attention to what they said and try to follow their example and experience what they are talking about for myself.

I want to know - not compare and measure myself or my skills against theirs.
If I can recognize what they are talking about by doing it like they describe and achieve results then I move on.
It is a journey of personal discovery.
Every fisherman gets exactly - what he fishes for.
It you fish for gossip or to promote your flies or if you fish for a comparitive self image or for negative one upsmanship then so be it. You will get that.
I wish you well.

I fish for the adventure of growing in personal awareness.

I love nature and fish and people and sharing and I deeply enjoy creativity.

Fishing is a relationship with living your life as fully as you can to me.

My goal is to find out more and more about the mystery of fishing and experience it as fully as I can.

Fishing is mystery to me.
The more I experience the more I realize how little I know.
If I have a skill it is listening to my own sense of wonder.

Right now I am wondering how to fish in a 12' foot sea with a fly rod from the beach.
