If I read your tape right, those guys are from 13 to 15 inches long. You must cut your own thru wire, based on what know of the availability of pre-cut wire. What are you using?
I was talking to a plug builder that I have a great deal of respect for this spring who makes a 13" floating needle. He will do the slow waking retrieve, but he also will do a walk the dog thing with it, and get glides up to about 4 feet. He indicated that at times, this was very effective.
Yes, big pencils can be deadly. I make a 12" one I've dubbed "The Billy Club".
