There is no heresy in using grain weight to balance a rod. If anything it is the oldest method and the only one that has credible history. The heresy is the false casting dogma of high line speed with underweighted as the mormal way of casting. It just is not so... Never was the only right way and it never will be. It is a false doctrine therefore a heresy.
