I have an old Fenwick HMG 10'6 8wt. I'm thinking about using the RIO Outbound floating line, but am unsure what a good line weight would be for this type of rod. This is an old first generation graphite rod. Very durable and heavy. I'm not sure the new lines would be suitable for this rod, but have heard a lot of positive feedback from the Rio on this board. Unfortunately my local fly shop won't let me try their lines. Any suggestions?
