Hey Bill, I saw a reference to your post on the Spey board and added some of my experiments with heat-shrink tubing. My standard approach is to create loops using the "spinning bobbin" technique and then coat with aquaseal or other flexible sealant. I was hoping for a quick and easy solution with the heat-shrink but so far it remains a "hope".
Seth's nailknot solution is great for a quick on-water fix.
I'll bring a bunch of stuff up on clave week-end and you can take a look at some of the results.
