Subject: Re: Droppers

I just re-tie. I use a fixed knot for the droppers like a clinch or improved clinch. I use a uni-knot for the tail fly. I can get about two changes out of a tag on a good day or night when the magic is working. The easiest way is to just start over and that is best anyway. It only takes a minute or two and you have a fresh knot and leader. (See Rockfishermans post on leaders)
I could use longer ones but I do not like the way they fish. I do leave them a bit long to tie the fly on but then - Clip.

I don't care obout efficency or short cuts. HTey always seem to have to be done over and that is not efficient.

The young man's lament,

"You never have time to do it right: but you always have time to do it over."

Too many fish lost that way.
