I use them. I have one called the the bull whip. It is 6 feet long for lines 8 wt and up. I like it a lot. I also have a 7 foot one that is a type VI that I use from a boat. I also have a 7 foot one for my 4wt trout rod. The one negative I have is that metal ring. I clipped it off the 8 wt and I connect my tippet to with a uni-knot. I really doubt it would hold up to a large fish. It clipped off realllly easily too.
